While one young Gymback career continued to build and flourish, another came to an end on Thursday night as Maddie Jones and Joscelyn Roberson competed at the NCAA Championships in Fort Worth.
Wehiwa Aloy continued to amaze with his play on both sides of the baseball, swatting his team-leading 14th home run of the season and displaying his dazzling defense at shortstop, but #2 Arkansas (33-6, 12-4 SEC) dropped the series opener against Texas A&M (22-15, 7-9 SEC), 7-4, Thursday night at Baum-Walker Stadium.
The No. 44 Arkansas men's tennis team (18-14) grabbed the doubles point before falling 4-2 to No. 32 Florida (14-10) in the second round of the SEC Tournament Thursday evening.
No. 5 Arkansas competes in the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational hosted by Florida this Friday and Saturday at the James Pressley Stadium and Percy Beard Track.
In anticipation of inclement weather over the weekend, the series finale between #2 Arkansas and Texas A&M, originally scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, April 19, has been rescheduled to 2 p.m. Friday, April 18.
