FHS Girls basketball dominate Tigers, 61-47

Bulldogs secure dual victories with Boys 53-45 victory

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – On Friday, Fayetteville girls’ varsity basketball scored 61 points against Bentonville’s 47. Utilizing teamwork and fast-paced strategies, the lady bulldogs secured a lead against the Tigers during the first half. The win completed Fayetteville’s “senior night” with the first of 2 wins during a doubleheader that saw the boys’ beat the Tigers, 53-45.
Bulldog starters included seniors Mariyah Moss (32) and Whitney Brown (2) with sophomore Syniah Coachman (23) and freshman Payton Coddle (30) going against the Tiger seniors Cambrie Phillips (4) and Victoria Otter (2), alongside sophomore Mataya Broan (5), and freshman Jenson Thrasher (20).

Fayetteville took the lead during the first half with Moss carrying the team in multiple layups and assists. Whitney Brown reinforced the lead with a 3-point shot.
Bentonville’s Cambrie Phillips led the team in several shots and assists keeping the Bulldogs on their toes while teammate Otter made several layups and with aggressive ball-handling.
During the second half, we see a strong play from Fayetteville’s Coachman with an advanced pass to Ball and making a layup helping to secure an 8-point lead against the Tigers.
Coach Vic Rimmer said “The kids-they just want to win. We have a lot of really supportive fans and Fayetteville loves basketball. It makes it a really great place to coach.”

The bulldogs inevitably dominated the Tigers winning securing both wins during the double header.
